Naga's Apprentice -- Finding Dinner
One of the first things Shania did as a new Sentinel was find a good mentor -- preferably one as quirky
and fun-loving as she was. And that she found in Naga Isu, the Irdu, a Sergeant.
'Finding Dinner' is an excerpt in the day of Shania as a new apprentice. Who knew lessons could be this
much fun?

17 February 2005* -- I've found Retro again. This time its a lot more fun since I actually found a group of players that
are not only teaching me the ropes in the game (i.e. farming, sentinel work, blah blah) but also are willing to help me explore
my character in role play as well.
This is my first rp post, or rather, will be my first. The girl who plays Shania's
mentor brought her onto the boards and I decided to follow. This particular piece is still in development. I need to edit
some key parts, i.e. the trident's true name (I swear, I think its Spoon but it could be fork. Damn you, Naga!). My grammar's
off.. blah.

As The River Flows
Shania has always been wild as a free bird and the prospect of marriage -- at least this time -- compromises that freedom.
How do you tell someone you don't love that he's got a snowflake's chance in hell at ever being your
significant other? Its a difficult, delicate situation straddled in the lap of a person who lacks diplomacy and has the refinement
of a Titan in a daisy field. How will Shania cope? Will she crush Firen's heart or will she concent out of pity?
|
5 March 2005* -- The last little post of roleplay got me three role play points in reccompence so now I grand total of
four. Wee..
Anyway, I've been lacking much on anything else, social life is getting back up to standards, school is
rocky-- my writing bug back to its ferocious self. This week's post is as follows. It was inspired by an actual event in the
mud.
15 September 2005 -- This piece was originally posted in three parts as it was too large to fit into the new channel
in one chunk. I have slammed it into one part for convinience.

Donuts Before Noon
Sometimes, even the luckiest and nicest of folk can have such a horrible day they put ogres to shame.
Then again.. Shania's not a morning person... and she needs coffe.. and donuts.. lots and lots of donuts!
|
15 September 2005 -- This particular piece does not have a previous note attached to it. I'll add to it now since I feel
there are a few things worth mentioning:
At this point, Shania had been living with Kestrel in Shiralaya for about a month and the Order had just moved in. This
explains the sibling-like relationship between Kestrel and Shani, as well as the interesting decor of her room. He had, after
all, given Shania free reign on the design.
This story is also the birth of the nickname, Tumbleweed.
The alignment is shot as this piece was done in Retro first, then copied and saved.

Birth Of The Donut Bunch
The life of an apprentice can be a lonely one. An apprentice leaves home and becomes his master's shadow until he is
ready to fly off on his own but if his master is not entirely there all the time -- as Naga is not as she is a busy mentor
with tons of cases upon which Shania cannot participate in...
A new face peeks its head into the Guild Headquarters seeking a mentor. With that strange sense of humor Shania and Naga
share, the duo becomes a three some of doom.
|
15 Sept. 05 -- Again, this piece lacks a disclaimer or note and thus I will tack it on. (It was posted on Apr. 7,
by the way)
BOTDB was made when String joined the group and Naga acquired a second apprentice. This is where Naga's megalomania kicks
in and plans for a Nagalicious Army begins (which by the way, doesn't really take effect until late August.. but that's a
whole other story).
Unfortunately, String went AWOL and nobody has heard of him since two days after this post was made. Shame. That Treant
and Shania got along quite dandy..

Family Ties: "A Rose By Anyother Name" Part 1
Homesick Shania can hardly hold in her misery and when someone blurts out a part of her that the elf could only hope
no one would know, sparks fly. But these sparks are not good kind, as it is obvious by the elven sentinel's demeanor that
there is more to her than just a secret name.

26 June 2005 -- The following story line takes place before my abrupt abscence almost a month and a half ago
and carries on from that point to the present. That is, while she still lived at Shirlaya, Schrau was the sentinel Mentor
and Pinky had just taken over the 'Donut Route' that once belonged to the Pastry Girl. I currently have a quasi writer's block
and am using this as an exercise to both unclog the block but explain Shania's absence from the mud. I have just been busy
with school. :P
Many thanks to Puppy (Zeamass) for helping me along with key parts of the story and to Riphath
for having to deal with my lengthy rants about the story. I love you both for letting me bounce ideas off of you!
fyi:
Ro'Vasar is a village both Riphath and I made up. More to come on this in the next part of the story line.

Family Ties: Part deux
Everybody has secrets and all secrets are kept for a reason, no matter how benign they may seem. Just because something
may seem silly to one person, it does not mean it is a view everybody shares.

26 June 2005 -- Again, this post was split into two different parts due to its size. I do wish to add a few notes at
the moment, though..
First off, this is un-edited post. After working on it a bit and having posted it, Retro's servers were fried. I took
that opportunity to rewrite a lot of this, especially the interaction between Shania and Gilgal. I managed to make the ending
a bit less abrupt and yet, still poignant.
Unfortunately, I recently moved out of my parents home and there were quite a few things I had to leave behind. My computer
was one of them. Until I get my hands on it, I will not be able to post the final version.
|
Family Ties: Welcome Home
Shania has been gone from Ro'Vasar for a long time and looked forward to a home-cooked meal and father's stories. When
she finally reaches her home, that was not the welcoming she had hoped to recieve.

28 June 2005 -- Worked on parts three and four of Family Ties while Retro was down.
Those are still in my computer at the folks's. Blergh.
